…and we’re back, I hope…

It’s been a crazy few months, but we’re ready here to start again with new designs and plenty of other goodies. for starters, check these guys out: Snowpeople.

This the the same pattern I used to make these little guys and gals.

I apologize for the lack of front-page pics, but I’ve been having image-uploading issues and haven’t gotten a chance to play with flickr recently. Hopefully all of that will be fixed soon, along with an updated blogroll and some other upgrades.

Restructuring

There have been some crazy-big changes in my life over the last few months, and that’s caused me to reconsider my strategy for keeping the business and the blog going. I promise you we will eventually have some content around here! LOL. But I’m going to take a week or two at this point and restructure my web presence a bit. Stay tuned…

Offline

Be back in a few days. A weekend without the internet? Crazy talk! But here it is.

*waves*

Next up?

Moving the computer. I have a few things I want to take care of first, because I hate to leave folks hanging. But it’s time to vacation-ize the Etsy shop for a few days and shut this thing down. Might be a little weird, but I think I can live with it.

Cast on for a new pair of socks yesterday. Yay! I’m trying out my brand-shiny-new 4″ Harmony dpns, and so far I’m a fan…might switch back to the 6″ when there’s more fabric to manage, but I’m not sure. We’ll see. Forest Canopy is coming along beautifully. I am so in love with both yarn and pattern!

I really need to dig through my WIP basket and see what’s up there. I haven’t been using my Rav notebook to its full potential for a while now…time to actually take advantage of it again and see if I can get some things finished! I have a terrible hankering to start another shawl, which would mean picking more yarn, and I’m trying to resist because I really don’t have the money…maybe I can make a deal with myself. *grin*

Anyway, I’ll post when we reach the away-for-a-few-days point here.

Hi there!

It’s been a long few months, with big personal changes and the utter chaos that those can bring. Now that things are closer to moving in some direction rather than just flailing about wildly, I wanted to return to the blog if for no other reason than to talk about all of the fun I’m having knitting in the few moments I can manage to steal in my current schedule. I recently finished my first pair of socks, for one thing, my first lace project is underway, and I finally made a trip to WEBS a few weeks ago.

Still have to kick the camera into working, but stay tuned…

Phew!

I had almost developed a fresh twitter habit. Thank heavens they went back to being down constantly just in time! Narrow escape, that was…

Today is devoted to the new dishcloth pattern. I’m really excited about this one…it’s a visual treat, IMHO. At the rate the kids are letting me play with yarn, it’ll be done in a couple of weeks instead of a couple of days, and that’s fine. I tend to get far too wrapped up in work and forget how different the world looks to them. They bring me back to their reality, and it’s a pretty cool place to hang out. Today we had a long discussion about mulberries and bird poop. My 3-year-old was delighted to fin out that birds poop. LOL. What’s crocheting next to that?

(Not that I can do without it, mind you, but seriously? The full-force cute is something to behold, truly.)

To Do:

–Finish pattern pending.

–Finish design-yet-to-become-pattern-pending.

–Play. Because I’m exhausted and I need to play with yarn instead of *working* with it a bit.

–Housework. Ick.

–Figure out what to do with the HAP rectangles I can’t afford to mail. Thinking I’ll start a bigger box for them and mail them next round instead of this one, when I have a chance of affording it. Then again, maybe I’ll split them up and mail a bit now, a bit later. Not sure yet. I’ll divide them into two packages that can go first-class, and mail one this week and one in ten days or so. Assuming, that is, that I can get ‘hold of the address in time for this week’s post-office run.

–Figure out how to make the shop look like someone actually you know, runs it. Heheh. Poor thing has been terribly neglected while I get the working-all-day thing smoothed out.

–Go through my partially completed projects and figure out what needs to be finished and what needs to be frogged. Got them all into Ravelry, and decided not to frog anything at all. I did put the blankets into hibernation mode for the summer, though, so I wouldn’t be feeling bad every time I signed in and saw them glaring at me. It’s fine now, but before long it’s going to be way too hot to have that much yarn in my lap. Surprisingly few projects I’ve got outstanding at this point. That pleases me, since it gives me justification for starting more. 😉

Testing a New Blogging Toy

Test.

Hee! 😀

OK, enough of that.

It was worth trying, but my interest in using twitter has pretty much evaporated over the course of their problems the last week or so. I had faith that they’d get the thing fully operational again, but…well, not so much, and I doubt y’all want to read about my annoyance with it, which is about all I feel like tweeting. So I’m going to kill the cool plugin thingy for the time being. We’ll see where it all winds up in the end.

Twitter Updates for 2008-05-30

  • Thinking it’s time to re-orient resume and search for admin work. I absolutely cannot continue to walk 8 hours a day. #
  • @Ithildyn Thank you. 🙂 #
  • @jaysolo Never did get the hang of Thursdays? #
  • Bedtime. Later than I’d like, earlier than I feared. 🙂 #
  • I hate the 7-4 after the 11-8. I am not as young as I was the last time I did this for a living. #
  • Gah. When I get home I suppose it’ll be time to root out the spammers. I’d hate to lock this account, but I got really bored with it before. #
  • Probably will be really bored with it again. Between that and the service problems, I’m seriously wondering about this thing. #
  • @zura Yay! 🙂 #
  • Trying to work up the gumption to actually do the laundry that’s sitting here mocking me. #
