I think I’ll go play Titanfall as a misguided show of independence from the hype. Then as soon as the kids have been shipped to school, it’s all Destiny all morning.
Love this montage. We’ve all been there…
(Spotted on the Titanfall subreddit.)
So. Damned. Excited!
This is 100% sensible, 100% expected, and will probably result in substantial numbers of people being irrationally disappointed.
and I think that it’s worth the Kinect just to have the “record that” feature.
All of us have these moments of insanity that beg to be recorded. I find that those moments occur approximately 6780 times more often when playing Titanfall, however.
Today I was on Corporate and it was the end of an aggravating match that we’d just lost and I’m in a mostly-undamaged Atlas. I hightail it over to the evac point to take a look and I’ve got three enemy titans standing there barely noticing me. They’re way too busy wanting to destroy the ship to care if there’s a titan running around. So I hit ‘em with my rocket salvo and dive into the middle of the group, spamming punches like there’s no tomorrow. And when they close in around me to kill me (ok, I know you know what I did next, but it was still a thing of beauty…) I ejected.
This just happened to be the loadout I run nukes on. Got all three titans. I was watching the damage toll scroll at the bottom of the screen and it took me a moment to realize that I hadn’t actually landed where I might have expected.
I was in the evac ship.
And then I cleaned the change out of my wallet and sighed. My penny jar’s got a long way to go to 500 bucks.
I tend to really hate blog announcement posts; I know you’re blogging again because I’M READING YOUR POST. Ahem. There is, however, a rather sharp shift about to take place here, and I figure it’s worth saying something about.
When I had to give up writing and selling patterns, I got the biggest case of crafting-block I’ve ever experienced. Oh, I sewed a bit, and I went on a kick and made a couple dozen granny squares toward my perpetual afghan at once point, but for the most part my UFOs have been collecting metaphorical dust.
Part of what’s replaced that for me is video games. And there’s a lot going on in that world right now, and my friends are stone tired of hearing me talk about whether Destiny should have included matchmaking for raids. So I thought I’d come back to my favorite little corner of the internet when I had something to say.
The crafting content is still here; patterns are listed and archives are available to the far right. But new content is 95% likely to include the word Xbox. There is some absolutely amazing stuff out there, and I am having a fantastic time exploring it all.
Thanks for visiting.
I found this at a little bookshop in Maine this week and had to have it. It’s s story about a little girl who finds a magic box of yarn. The kids love it, but I got it for me because I was tickled by the concept and crazy about the illustrations.
